The USD 17,9 million berth construction contract was awarded to the Tampa-based company Orion Marine Group. The contract includes building the bulkhead, seawall, relieving platform and dredging. Terminal F is PortMiami's 3rd cruise terminal dedicated to Carnival ships as well as currently the largest in North America. The 2019-signed Carnival-PortMiami agreement included the company's commitment to homeport at Terminal F ships for 20 years, with the option of two additional 7-year lease extensions. The new terminal was officially opened/inaugurated on December 7, 2017, MSC Seaside's scheduled dock in PortMiami was on December 21, 2017.
